General Museum Admission

Admission to the Museum includes a self-guided tour through the Museum’s permanent collection galleries and special exhibitions. Watch “What It Takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame,” a 16-minute film that takes viewers on an amazing journey through the various aspects of thoroughbred racing and examines the rare honor—given to less than one percent of the sport’s participants—of reaching the game’s pinnacle and earning a coveted spot in the Hall of Fame.

Please look for several exciting events throughout 2025 as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary!

The day after Labor Day through May 31, the Museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.  The movie plays every hour on the hour starting at 11 a.m. and the last showing at 3 p.m. 

June 1 through Labor Day the Museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 days a week.

The movie begins at 10 a.m. and the last showing is at 4 p.m.

The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter, and Kentucky Derby Day (for a fundraising event).
