Admission to the Museum includes a self-guided tour through the Museum’s permanent collection galleries and special exhibitions. Watch “What It Takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame,” the 16-minute film that brings viewers on an amazing journey through the various aspects of thoroughbred racing and examines the rare honor — given to less than one percent of the sport’s participants — of reaching the game’s pinnacle and earning a coveted spot in the Hall of Fame.
The day after Labor Day through May 31, the Museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Currently, the movie plays every hour on the hour starting at 11 a.m. and the last showing at 3 p.m.
June 1 through Labor Day the Museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 days a week.
The movie begins playing at 10 a.m. and the last showing is at 4 p.m.
The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter, and Kentucky Derby Day (for a fundraising event).
